Front Porch DIY

The weather is warming up, the birds are chirping and the sun is shining! So I am SO ready for some front porch DIY action! (And those flowers were alive at one point, I swear! LOL!)

Helloooo SPRING!

Every year I love to brighten up my front porch with a new doormat! It’s a fun way to greet friends and family to your home!

Sneaky Upgrade

As a sneaky upgrade, I love to layer my rugs.

This year I found the perfect bottom rug for layering from Target. It is inexpensive and reversible (win, win!). I’ve attached the links for some of my favorites. And for the two rugs I found for our front porch!

Front Porch Rug to Layer

The rug shown above is the reversible one I purchased from Target. You can stretch your budget with the extra options of a reversible rug.

This rug show above just makes me smile. Super smiley “hello sunshine” is other rug from Target I purchased this year! You can use this rug as inspiration for any fun, friendly, springtime saying you’d like.

I love how bright and colorful this rug is!

Add Spring Elements

On my front porch, I love to add elements that remind me of spring. This year I decided instead of making a DIY wreath I would do something more simple.

I took a bundle of dry eucalyptus I had on hand from Hobby Lobby and I used a rubber band to tie the stems together. You could also use dried flowers or faux flowers. This would really give it a fun spring vibe, I however did not have any on hand, so I simply used what I had.

Next, I used some yarn to tie a knot around the bundle in order to attach it to my door hook. I wanted it to be positioned slightly lower than the hook, this is why I used the yarn. Then, I decided it would be fun to put a springy hat on the hook! I love decorating my home with hats because, well, I LOVE hats! The hat that I chose to put on the door instantly reminded me of spring!

Other Ideas

Some other fun ideas for your front door are fun spring decals! These are so fun and festive! Ordering these online is quite easy and inexpensive. Here are some fun ones that I found from Etsy!

Welcome Guests! Welcome Spring!

These are so fun! There is no end to the welcome phrases you can put on your door or the window. “Pray for rain” might be a fun one.

A Good Source For Decals

If you don’t want to page through the  options, I found a good source for the perfect spring decal! Let your imagination run wild.

This simple floral design would be fun! You can see the multiple uses for the decals. If you use it on the front door for awhile and want to transfer it to a bathroom mirror or your morning cup of coffee, go for it!

Make Your Own

You could also create a fun Spring DIY sign using what you have on hand! I love to use chalkboard spray paint because you can spray it on almost anything and then simply use chalk to make your own design or quote. You could use an old frame or sign that might be hanging out in your garage or under the stairs. This is an inexpensive and fun way to put your own personal touch on your front porch!

This is the chalkboard spray paint that I use.

Nothing says Spring like Fresh Flowers

For a finishing touch, I always, always love to add a big ole pot of flowers next to my door! That is what truly says “Spring” to me 🙂 Head over to my Instagram if you’re interested in a IGTV video on how I put together this flower container garden! Hit the little “TV button” on my Instagram page to find my videos and then look for “DIY Spring Container Garden” and this image you see below.
